An interview with Domien Pieters, Chief Financial Officer, Radial Europe

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Domien Pieters oversees Radial’s financial operations in Europe. He focuses on financial stability, performance optimization, and supporting growth. Domien works to ensure Radial’s financial strategies support the company’s goals and deliver valuable solutions that meet clients’ needs.

Before stepping into the CFO role, Domien served as Chief Commercial Officer responsible for the sales and marketing activities for Radial in Europe. Domien has a broad experience in logistics, having previously held operational and commercial positions at Katoen Natie in Europe, Asia and North-America. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics and is an APICS certified supply chain professional.

What sets Radial apart in the e-commerce and omnichannel fulfillment space?

We pride ourselves on being e-commerce and omnichannel fulfillment experts. This means we understand that we are the ones fulfilling the promises our fashion customers make to their end customers. Every time we fulfill an order, we are responsible for the experience that the end customer will have when they open the package. When they get it at home.

What kind of services does Radial offer to enhance the customer experience?

This responsibility comes with a variety of services that we offer at Radial. We provide value-added services, including embroidery and gift wrapping, to ensure the experience is exactly what our fashion clients desire. Additionally, we offer return services, including quality control grading and even refurbishment if there are any damages to the product. These are all crucial for fashion clients who want to grow as e-commerce and omnichannel brands.

How does Radial support clients looking to expand into new markets?

We are fully integrated with more than 240 carriers across Europe, enabling our fashion clients to access new markets quickly. Within a few days, we can set up new routes to countries where our clients are not yet active. If there is further growth in those markets, our in-house developed integration layer allows clients to swiftly move to a new location within the Radial network without the need for an additional 3-4 months of integration.

How has technology played a role in your operations?

Our company has been active in e-commerce for more than 20 years. And technology has always been at the heart of what we do. With every solution that we put together, we pay extra attention to the type of technology that we use. That can include automation, which we can invest in thanks to the financial backing of the bpostgroup. That can be transparency, which we offer through our online portal where our clients can view the status of any given order at any time. They can make changes if needed, and check their inventory. They see exactly what we see in our systems.

How do you fit solutions and technology to each client’s specific needs?

All our solutions are tailored; we are not tied to one specific automation brand. Our in-house developed integration layer allows us to connect with any type of technology that best suits the client’s specifically tailored solution.
