Radial, a leading B2C e-commerce order fulfilment solutions provider and part of the Belgian bpostgroup, showcased its cut-edge automation at its warehouse in Poland. The keynote guest speaker was Professor Aleksandra Przegalińska, the AI expert and futurist.
The Radial Poland fulfilment site near Warsaw hosted a meeting for the company’s potential clients entitled “Reshaping business with new technologies: automation, AI, chatbots”. Representatives of e-commerce and direct selling companies had the opportunity to look behind the scenes of this state-of-the-art facility. The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the integration of automation, robotics and artificial intelligence in e-commerce, direct sales and fulfilment services.
The event’s keynote speaker was Professor Aleksandra Przegalińska, a prominent futurist from Koźmiński University specialising in artificial intelligence. Asked about her predictions for the future of AI, she said: “I’m expecting growth and rise of new systems, but also massive reskilling processes in companies where this technology will be deployed. Businesses will want to use local versions of, say, ChatGPT, or other technologies, to increase safety and tackle problems that are endemic and specific to the company. I think the main opportunity that we can see is the rise in productivity. A human plus a machine is better than a human, but it’s also much better than a machine. AI will change the way we work, but I don’t think it will make us jobless”.
One of the event program highlights was an opportunity to learn about the automation and efficient management processes at the Radial Poland warehouse. Radial experts gave guests a tour and demonstrated the facility’s inventory management, order processing, and fast, accurate parcel shipping solutions. The most important part was the automation system. It has been specially configured to process the orders of Radial Poland’s principal customer, doTERRA, the world’s leading producer of natural essential oils, cosmetics, and dietary supplements.
Michael Auras, Director of EMEA Operations of doTERRA, discussed their own experience with the solution. Auras presented concrete figures proving the positive impact the automated order processing had on the company and its customer experience. He said: “There’s no doubt in my mind that the introduction of automation in Poland will have a big impact on the EMEA market. We now have huge potential to service new markets and customers, which will drive our future growth and development.”
Ines Kainz and Markus Neuper from Knapp AG, the provider of this automation solution, shared their knowledge and experience in applying innovative technologies in logistics. They presented how combining intelligent software tools with mechatronics, service, and optimization enables Knapp to bring value to the value chain of 3pl companies and retailers.
The Radial team, comprising Dries de Love, Executive Vice President Europe, Tomasz Okowiak, General Director of Radial Poland and Leszek Czyż, CEE Sales Director, took the opportunity to share the company’s mission of developing customized fulfilment strategies for each customer. With its expertise and customer-centric approach, Radial aims to empower brands with tailored solutions that drive success and elevate customer experiences.
Radial’s investment in an automated fulfilment solution for doTERRA is an excellent demonstration of this commitment. Tomasz Okowiak expressed: “Long-term partnership agreements support this project. It illustrates our commitment to building our capacity and delivering our customers’ best-in-class solutions. As part of the bpostgroup, which has a strategic focus on international e-commerce logistics expansion, we are well-positioned to grow and invest in line with our current and future customer expectations.”
The event hosted by Radial is an example of how working with the leading experts in their fields enables Radial to anticipate changes in the e-commerce industry and gain knowledge about consumer shopping behaviour.
